Reconstituted Slate Roofs
The more modern reconstituted slates can have a natural slate content of up to 80% and can have a near natural appearance. Reconstituted slates are available with an interlocking design which can be laid on pitches as low as 17.5 degrees and can be overlapped in the traditional manner. In most cases you will see a weight reduction of around 25% to 30% over natural.
Reconstituted slates are relatively maintenance free, and because of the high slate content they will retain their colour and appearance just like natural slate.
Some types of slates can be nailed and some come pre holed for nailing and an additional one single copper disk rivet.
