Natural slate speaks for itself it has been used throughout the UK and Europe for hundreds of years. Natural slates come in many sizes and makes. The most common in the UK is the Welsh slate which is renowned as the best quality slate money can buy. A prime example of our workmanship and the Welsh slate can be found on the Church at Stratton on the Fosse, carried out for the Downside Abbey Estate.
The second most common slate in the local area is the Spanish slate. This slate has a different grain than the Welsh slate the closer the grain the better the slate.

Natural slates can be spiked and copper nailed or they can be hung with stainless steel clips.
